If you have ever been asked "what does everyone else do about this?", Insights is where you go. It is a members-only section of the PBA website that turns the association's benchmarking surveys into something you can search, read, and actually use.
Look up one question and get the answer first. The Benchmark Explorer holds 180 benchmark questions, grouped into five plain themes: Who can travel; At the airport and booking; Passes and partners; Fees and charges; and Running the program. Type a word like "buddy" or "retiree" and the matching questions come straight up, each one led with the answer rather than a chart you have to work out for yourself. Every figure carries the year it was asked and how many carriers answered.
See who said what. For the surveys where the individual responses were recovered, Insights shows which airline gave which answer, alongside anything that airline wrote in its own words. That was the Board's decision: these are airline benchmarking surveys, and they are most useful when members can see the detail. Only the airline is named. No individual's name or contact details exist anywhere in the archive.
Follow a policy over the years. Where the same question was asked in more than one year, you get a year-by-year trend and a plain sentence describing it. One of the featured insights tracks whether permanently disabled dependents may stay on privileges past the age limit: about three in five carriers said yes in 2014 (58%), rising to about two-thirds by 2023 (64%).
Read any survey in full. The Survey Archive is a reading room. Each survey gets a card with the year, how many questions it carried, how many members answered, and one plain-language finding. Six industry surveys are there today, 431 questions and 222 responses between them, going back to 2014. Where a year was not surveyed, Insights shows the gap instead of filling it in. No surveys were conducted in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2022.
It grows with every new survey. When the Survey Committee closes a survey and adds it to Insights, it joins the library right away, on the same pages and under the same rules. Your answers to the next industry survey become part of the benchmark the next member reads.
A few things worth knowing. Insights is members-only. You sign in with your PBA account to reach it, and there is nothing to see without signing in. Conference feedback surveys are handled separately and stay with the Board and the Survey Committee; what members see in Insights is the industry benchmarking work.
And the numbers are honest about their limits. Nothing is estimated, rounded up, or filled in. Where the responses do not support an answer, the page says so rather than offering you a figure that looks confident and is not.
